How to Throw a Beverly Hills Baby Shower

or Any Type of Celebration Party (Yes, Even If You’re Not in 90210)

When I found out we were having a baby girl, I knew I wanted to celebrate in a way that felt elevated, joyful, and just a little bit extra — because what better reason to go all out than the gift of new life?

Inspired by the elegance and timeless charm of The Beverly Hills Hotel (think: pink-and-white stripes, banana leaf prints, and old-Hollywood glam), my friends hosted a baby shower that brought a little slice of 90210 right into our backyard. And let me tell you — you don’t have to live in Beverly Hills to throw Beverly Hills.

Whether you’re planning your own shower, helping a friend, or simply pinning ideas for someday, here’s your guide to throwing a dreamy Beverly Hills–inspired baby shower — complete with outdoor elegance, Palm Springs flair, and all the feminine charm your heart can handle.

🏝️ THE VIBE: Old Hollywood Meets Baby Girl

Start by dreaming in vintage pinks, banana leaf greens, and touches of gold. The Beverly Hills Hotel is known for its iconic Martinique wallpaper, which became the perfect muse for everything from custom signage to cocktail napkins.

🌿 OUTDOOR DECOR THAT WOWS

Here’s how we created a glamorous-yet-whimsical garden party vibe:

1. Palm Leaf Heaven

Banana leaf pillows, table runners, and accent backdrops brought the whole theme to life. We used a mix of real and faux palms to line walkways, frame the gift table, and elevate the entire outdoor space.

2. Pink & White Stripes

Rent or DIY pink-and-white stripe umbrellas or linens. This pattern feels instantly posh and sets a playful tone without being overly “baby.”

3. Luxe Lounge Areas

Create conversation corners with rattan chairs, velvet ottomans, or even vintage chaise lounges. Add accent pillows in shades of blush, coral, and leafy green.

4. Custom Signage

Welcome signs, drink menus, and “Baby Isla” displays done in retro fonts gave our party that high-end hotel feel. Look for vintage Beverly Hills typeface or neon-style script.

5. Floral Moments

Florals were soft, feminine, and full of movement — peonies, roses, ranunculus, and palm fronds — arranged in gold and white vases. We added floral swags to the balloon arch for a little extra drama.

🍹 SIPS + SNACKS

Think California cool:

Signature mocktail: Pink coconut spritzers with edible flowers

Mini avocado toast + watermelon skewers

A cake that’s too pretty to cut: Ours had palm leaf frosting and pink velvet layers

👗 THE GLAM

Encourage guests to come in garden party glam chic — breezy dresses, wide-brim hats, and a little glam. I wore a sequin gown dress that made me feel like I had just stepped off a red carpet.

And speaking of friends — surround yourself with women who reflect the kind of legacy you hope your daughter will inherit. That day was full of faith, sisterhood, laughter, and prayer — the real heart of the celebration.

At the end of the day, this shower wasn’t about impressing — it was about honoring. Honoring the miracle of motherhood. Honoring the women who’ve poured into me. And welcoming baby Isla Grace with beauty and joy.

So whether you’re in a backyard in Georgia or a rooftop in LA — you can bring the Beverly Hills magic wherever you are. All you need is a little vision, a lot of heart, and maybe a banana leaf or two. 💕

With grace & gratitude,

Amy
